What is Holotropic Breathwork?

Holotropic Breathwork is a highly experiential inner journey that uses music, breathing and sacred space to create the conditions for an inner experience that can be very deep, profound, and healing. It is the technique developed by Dr. Stanislav Grof through scientific research but it also has a long lineage especially in cultures that place a high value on spiritual experience or, at least, practices that have the potential for psychological and spiritual healing such as rites of passage, initiations, and other culturally sanctioned rituals and religious ceremony.

Non-ordinary states of consciousness, brought about by a wide variety techniques, have been practiced by almost every culture for the purposes of initiation, regeneration, and healing.  Done in the appropriate set and setting with a skilled facilitator it is a very safe process that can be used to facilitate a deeper connection to Self as well as emotional release.
